Paleozoic Petalodont Shark Tooth
Here is a Paleozoic shark tooth from the species Petalodus ohioensis, the extinct Petalodont shark from the Pennsyvanian period, approx. 300 million years ago. Found in the Raytown Limestone formation, Lenexa, Johnson county, Kansas. Size of specimen is .62" high by .91" wide on a 1.51" by 1.40" piece on limestone. The tooth is a really nice specimen.
